Chapter 5: The Sam Detour
You wake in a teenager’s bedroom. Sam fixes the van. Trying to repair it yourself fails. The chapter is a cluster of small achievements: the garden, the stick, the selfie, and a wish.

Sam’s route reported by player guides
- Let Sam repair the van. Doing it yourself does not complete the repair.
- Water your assigned garden side and refill at the faucet. For Green Thumb, finish before Sam; watering everything eventually is not the published achievement condition.
- Follow Sam to collect the gaskets, then tighten the remaining bolts after the repair scene.
- Walk with Sam and the dog, using the offered fetch interactions. Olympic-Level Stick Thrower requires three rounds, not one throw confined to this chapter.
- Follow Sam’s selfie lesson: use the timer, smile, wait out the countdown.
- At camp, respond promptly to the shooting-star wish. Epic’s condition is time-sensitive even though the story does not require combat.
Optional house and camera tasks
Before leaving the house, check the kitchen. KosGames reports closing the broken drawer five times, leaving the kitchen between closes so it reopens. Epic identifies the drawer but does not specify that repetition count or chapter.
Sam’s selfie lesson is a progression step, not proof that the ten-selfie achievement is complete. Keep the count separate and use later photo opportunities.
Questions
The stick throw did not unlock. What now?
Epic requires three fetch rounds. Do not expect a single throw to unlock it. KosGames also reports sticks near the resort cannon; chapter replay is documented after completion, so a full restart is not automatically required.
