Forever Ago ending explained
This page discusses the close of Alfred’s journey after you finish the game. The scene summary and interpretation are collapsed separately. No verified alternate-ending route is established by the sources checked here.

Without spoilers
Finish the journey before opening the scene summary. The official premise already identifies remembering a shared life and finding hope as central themes. There is no reason in the checked sources to optimize journal photographs for a secret finale.
Spoilers: the reported final scenes
Into Indie Games and Forever Ago Wiki describe a reunion with the dog after the snowy search, followed by the ascent and another dream or memory. In the remembered domestic scene, Alfred offers Audrey soup. Into Indie Games places opening the drawer and reading her final journal note after that flashback ends. This is not described here as Audrey physically waiting alive on the summit.
The same walkthroughs describe a home epilogue involving ordinary objects, dinner and the dog. The home scene is distinct from the remembered scene with Audrey. The sources do not supply the note’s full text, so no quotation or invented final message is added.
These are attributed scene summaries. Matching summaries do not establish that the guides are independent, and this audit did not review a full ending recording.
Spoilers: reading the ending
Interpretation: returning to an ordinary home routine after the final memory suggests that remembering and continuing can coexist. The journal and selected images give Alfred a way to carry the shared past without requiring the story to restore it.
The contrast matters more than a hidden-ending checklist: the final remembered domestic interaction is followed by present-day activity. This reading fits the official themes of grief and hope; it is not a claim about an unstated diagnosis, supernatural event or secret branch.
Questions
Does the dog’s name unlock a different ending?
Epic confirms naming the dog as an achievement task. None of the checked sources establishes a different finale tied to that name, so no name-dependent ending route is offered.
